Wednesday, November 16, 2016. Cutting my peonies down while preparing the garden for the long winter ahead, I am reminded how much I love their lush, colorful blossoms. I planted varieties specifically with intention to paint them and have tended them to maturity. The vibrant pinks are spectacular and have inspired many oil paintings. Several examples are pictured below. However, I find the challenge of making paintings of white flowers vibrant a particularly interesting endeavor.

Anfang Mai ziehe ich endlich um! Natürlich war der Abschied trotz allem nicht einfach, da mir vor allem Anabel sehr ans Herz gewachsen ist. Aber ein Abschied bedeutet auch immer ein Neuanfang, auf den ich mich sehr freue. Ich wurde herzlich in meiner neuen Familie aufgenommen und bin abends mit einem Lächeln auf dem Gesicht eingeschlafen, weil ich so dankbar für alles bin, dass mir Gott jeden Tag auf s neue schenkt-kleine und große Dinge. Dieses Jahr haben wir uns mal etwas im Gemüse anbauen versucht. Bis jetzt sind alle Samen gekommen, die wir eingepflanzt haben. Jetzt hoffen wir nur noch auf eine reiche Ernte. So, lange ist es her, dass wir uns mal wieder im Blog verewigt haben. Aber wie schon gesagt, Neuseeland ist jetzt unser ganz normaler Alltag.
